School of Missional Justice (SMJ)
Why?
- Why do the innocent suffer?
- Why do the rich get richer and the poor get poorer?
- Why are women and children victimized and exploited?
- Why do I exist?
- Why? Why? Why?
Have you ever been asked these questions or others like them? Have you ever asked them yourself? There is room for these questions and many more in the School of Missional Justice!
At the heart of the School of Missional Justice is getting to know God, His character and His ways and letting that teach us how to relate, think, act – and live. How it could be possible to make a real difference in this broken world.
This course affirms and explores the Mission of God. As followers of Jesus we are called to participate with God in His mission, and thus to proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom of God and live out its implications.
We seek to pursue an integrated, holistic approach to aligning with God's Kingdom agenda of righting relationships with Himself, others, and creation; to restoring justice; and to bringing healing to a broken world. We highlight a biblical Christian worldview and the resulting pursuit of a lifestyle of doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God in every sphere of society (Micah 6:8).

Imago Dei – The Image of God
Missional Justice is concerned with recognizing that each person is created in the image of God, thus treating everyone with the dignity that each image-bearer deserves. Therefore, as followers of Jesus...
- we work to alleviate poverty, disease and starvation
- we work to prevent the abduction and trafficking of boys & girls, men & women - and rescue & rehabilitate those taken
- we give a voice to the voiceless, stand up for the weak and vulnerable
- we fight for the lives and uphold the dignity of all persons from their beginning to their natural end
- we show hospitality – loving the stranger - and our neighbor as ourselves
Because of the Imago Dei we join in the Missio Dei – the Mission of God.
The SMJ is comprised of 4 Modules of 3 weeks each. A YWAM DTS is the prerequisite for participation in the SMJ. While it is best to do the school as a 12-week whole, there is the possibility to do it in modules. The modules need to be attended/done in their subsequent order (beginning with module 1). Modules 3 and 4 will only take place in Wiler. If we offer Modules 1 and 2 in another location at a different time of year, it will be noted here.
Module/Seminar 1: Biblical Foundations of Missional Justice (weeks 1-3)
Module/Seminar 2: WHY, GOD!!?? (weeks 4-6)
Module/Seminar 3: On Earth as it is in Heaven (weeks 7-9)
Module/Seminar 4: Do, Love, Walk (weeks 10-12)
